1. I’m aware that you’ve already been asked about your favorite bickies in a previous interview, so instead of doing that again, I’d like to know what your least favorite bickie is and why.
Shaun: I’m going to say the ginger beer ones. What are those (exactly)?
OB: Yeah, I don’t like the ginger snaps either.
Zac: Ginger snaps, that’s it!
Shaun: Ginger beer is good but the ginger beer cookies just don’t make it.
Zac: I’m gonna go out on a limb here, but I reckon the Milk Arrowroot has gotta go. I mean you can lather it up with butter and do whatever you want with it, but it’s just like it’s something you’d give your child, you know, like, to discipline them. No, you’re not getting a treat, you’re gonna have a Milk Arrowroot, you little motherfucker.
John: I’m gonna have to go with the Scotch Finger.
(General disagreement ensues)
John: Everyone loves ’em, but they’re a tad overrated.
(General agreement ensues)
Shelvo: Can you break it in two?
John: Well yeah, they are sharing you know, maybe I’ll have to withdraw that.
Shaun: Maybe you shouldn’t eat them all on your own you dog!

2. Your debut EP is titled The Beauty of Friends. I’d hope that you’re all on good terms with each other, not always the case with some bands, so I’d like to know what you think the most beautiful thing is about one another.
Shaun: Honestly the way we gel together is like – We’ve been playing as a band for maybe six or seven years, and I don’t know, the chemistry is right there for us. And was from day dot too. If we ever separated as a band, you know how like people do two bands at a time? I don’t think that would work.
(Zac and John agree)
I feel like also being from such a close-knit community as well that definitely helps. This guy’s (Zac) my first cousin. My mum and his mum are sisters. John has just been like around the traps for like forever you know. Everyone knows the Fing family, shout out Belinda and Ron Fing. So yeah, it’s just, it’s a small-town thing.
Zac: Yeah, small town fever is where it’s at.

3. I saw on your socials that Floor recently celebrated it second birthday, what present did you buy it?
Shaun: Oh, jeez. I think we more gifted ourselves. We went over and got my sister’s dog pram, and we pretended that Floor was actually inside it, and we did a little promo video. It’s kind of a milestone because our first ever song. It’s kind of like our baby right?
John: We didn’t really have a gift for it, but it was great to look back on it and be like, oh shit, that’s two years ago. Like it’s kind of crazy what we’ve done in two years. It feels like it was a month ago and it just-
Shaun: Yeah, when raising a child, it grows up quick.
Zac: It’s not easy being a single father!

4. If you were all trapped out on the Open Sea with only one album to listen to each, which album would you pick?
Shaun: Rehearsal by Skegss. Or any Skegss album. I’m a massive Skegss fan. I’ll marry any Skegss member. I really like Skegss.
Zac: I probably have to say the by debut album by The 1975, like the self-titled. To me that’s a game changer.
John: Look, if you’re out in the ocean by yourself, you’re going to want to get a bit rowdy. So, I’d go So Fresh 2005.
Jed: Hell yeah brother!
Shaun: Johnny getting freaky with us!
Zac: What were the big songs from 2005? I’m just trying to think. – I was thinking like Kelly Clarkson and P!nk sort of era.

5. Guest question from some randoms: Which one of you was it who kicked in the bickie tin?
Zac: I wish we did!
Shaun: The way that the band’s name is, it’s like an old bush saying. A farmer would come up to you and say, “You’ve got a head like a kicked in bickie tin”. Basically, saying that you’re ugly. So, all three of us basically got our bickie tin kicked in.
A big thank you to James (@hindsight.visuals) camera dude extraordinaire and their manager for all the photos in this article!
